CIOs and IT organizations today have a stronger voice than ever before in advising CEOs, CFOs and other members of the C-Suite on technology strategies as they apply to business decisions. Yet there is a widely perceived gap between the CIO as a technology officer and other C-level executives as corporate officers.
While many CIOs are members of the senior executive team, they are not always accepted as full partners of the executive business decision team. To explore this topic, the CIO Executive Council worked with members to create a position paper that sets out a broader vision of the CIO role, elevating it to encompass both fiduciary responsibilities and innovation leadership.
